This large composition has been an on and off project that I intend to finish. It has also been an experiment in different mixed media. My principal medium has been and is still colored pencil. I started out doing watercolor washes to create a flat color base and now I am enjoying mixing chalk pastels and pastel pencils with my colored pencils to create some stronger blacks and whites, and smoother colors. I am inspired to do a series of smaller pieces around the Tree of Life theme.

A signed print of this rendering was given to my mother and mother in law as part of their Christmas present. It is a portrait of my son and daughter. The first rendered graphite portrait I’ve done since a self-portrait attempt given as an art assignment in college back in 1998. This attempt was much more successful.

Every year around Christmas time I like to do a drawing to use as my Christmas card. In 2009, it was the Père Noel drawing. 2008 was the Snow Cat, Winter Reindeer and Snow Dog. You can see these in the Gallery section of my blog. This year I chose to draw a young boy being amazed by his reflection in the Christmas ornament in his tree.

The Eco Stroller ad is finished!! I am getting a quote to get it printed on T-shirts. The ad will be on the back of the shirt and the Eco Majestic logo (it’s parent company) on the front.
If you would like one let me know. I’ll be publishing how much they are soon.

I have finished the final drawing for the Eco Buggy. I will get it professionally scanned then add the text to finish the first in what is a series of post-global-warming adds.
Tell me what you think.

This is a new series of drawings I’m hoping to publish. The idea is simple. These are 50′s style propaganda adds for products that are available in a post greenhouse effect Armageddon.

This is the first draft of “The Eco-Buggy.”

The final is in production and will be posted in the coming weeks.

Enjoy!

I recently submitted a t-shirt design for Threadless T-shirt Design. Check it out and critique it by clicking Hansel, Gretel and the Witch.

Hope you like it!

This was the May 31st Dr. Sketchy’s in Ottawa and the last one I will be attending there. Next time it will be in Montreal! The models were great and the costumes were fantastic! Trying to keep the body shape while drawing in all those layers of clothing was quite the challenge. Hope you enjoy the drawings.

Famous paintings was the theme this week. There were poses simulating Whistler’s Mother, the Scream, etc. It was a lot of fun. The models were great. We all had a great laugh about the models interpretations of the paintings. It was great. Enjoy the drawings.

March 29th 2010. This time the theme was horoscopes. The models were fantastic. They had worked so hard to create the costumes and props. Hope you like the drawings. Check out more about Dr. Sketchy’s at http://www.drsketchyottawa.com/.
